EL AMANECER DEL ESPLENDOR AZTECA
El pueblo azteca tenía una visión cosmogónica del
futuro y sabía que estaba predestinado a ser el amo de México. Esto significaba
para este gran pueblo, que habría que quemar todos los códices antigüos que
relataban un pasado de sojuzgamientos, tiranías y esclavitud no sólo del cuerpo, sino del
espirítu. Y el espíritu era libre, siempre había sido así y era la hora de su
exaltación y liberación, era pues necesario reescribir la Historia y hacer
temblar a sus enemigos por el poderío que se estaba gestando.
Este poderío y esplendor del Imperio Azteca se
desprende del hímno místico, que se encuentra en la Colección de Cantares
Mexicanos, de la Biblioteca Nacional de México, cuyo texto es como sigue:
"Desde donde posan las águilas,
desde donde se yerguen los tigres,
el Sol es invocado.
Como un escudo que baja,
así se va poniendo el Sol.
En México está cayendo la noche,
la guerra merodea por todas partes,
¡Oh Dador de la vida!
se acerca la guerra.
Orgullosa de si misma
se levanta la ciudad de México-Tenochtitlan.
Aquí nadie teme la muerte en la guerra.
Esta es nuestra gloria.
Este es tu mandato
Tenedlo
presentes, oh príncipes,
no lo olvideís."
¿Quien podría sitiar a Tenochtitlán?
¿Quien podría conmover los cimuientos del cielo. . .?
Con nuestras flechas,
con nuestro escudos,
está existiendo la ciudad,
¡México-Tenochtitlán subsiste!
DAWN OF SPLENDOR AZTECA
The
Aztecs had a cosmic vision of the future and knew that they was destined to be
the master of Mexico . This meant for this great nation : They would have to
burn all ancient codices, submissions recounted a past , tyranny and slavery
not only the body but the spirit. And the spirit was free, it had always been
that way and it was time to release his exaltation and was therefore necessary
to rewrite history and shake their enemies by the power that was brewing .
This
might and splendor of the Aztec Empire follows in a mystical hymn , found in
Mexican Songs Collection of the National Library of Mexico , which reads as
follows:
"From where eagles perch ,
where
tigers stand ,
the
sun is invoked .
As a
shield low
so it
will make the Sun
In
Mexico it is getting dark ,
war
lurks everywhere
O
Giver of Life!
War is
coming.
Proud
of herself
Mexico
City -Tenochtitlan rises.
Here
no one fears death in war.
This
is our glory.
This
is your command
O
Giver of Life!
Keep that mind , oh princes,
Do not
forget.
Who
could lay siege to Tenochtitlan ?
Who
could touch the sky foundations . . . ?
With
our arrows
with
our shields,
the city is
existing,
Mexico
-Tenochtitlan remains !
No obstante, México- Tenochtitlán fue sitiado durante
tres meses por los españoles y por otros pueblos que formaron alianzas con los
exterminadores de la cultura azteca. El Imperio Azteca resite el sitio, se dan
combates en los alrededores y en el corazón de la ciudad, pero finalmente la
fuerza se impone y Cuauhtémoc, último rey de aquél brillante imperio se rinde y
por decisión propia entrega a los españoles una ciudad y todo un mundo, el del Quinto Sol que se desmorona.

However, Mexico-Tenochtitlan it was besieged for three months by the Spanish
and other peoples who formed alliances with the Aztec culture exterminators.
The Aztec Empire resits site, battles occur around and in the heart of the
city, but eventually the force is imposed. Cuauhtémoc, the last king of that bright
empire surrenders and delivery to the Spaniards a world, the Fifth
Sun crumbling.
